From May to August 2017, I lived at Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat as the YogaFest intern. My overall role was to aid in the coordination of the four-day festival that hosts over 600 people and volunteers. Given my creative background, the staff tasked me with designing a logo for the event t-shirt. With a general sketch to go by, I produced a 4-color shirt design that highlights the festival's focus on nature and harmony.
Following my 2017 internship, I continued providing volunteer graphic design work for Song of the Morning and produced the logo for the 2018 festival.
I returned to YogaFest in July 2019 as a volunteer by helping the festival with essential designs and layout for the program guide. I also worked during the festival as the Camping & Parking Director.
I was asked by the YogaFest Coordinator to create a new design for the 2018 festival inspired by stained glass. With a detailed illustration as reference, I produced a vibrant logo for use in event marketing, print and merchandise. The logo was used again in 2019.
I designed various graphics for use in the 2019 program guide and social media, including icons for the festival map (see below).
As a lover of layout design, I volunteered to create the 2019 program guide which details all festival information including the schedule, map and event mission. The visual components of prayer flags and wooden post signs tie into the physical space of the festival which uses both as decoration for the weekend- and brings together two main elements of the festival: yoga and nature immersion.
Given creative freedom for the 2020 logo, I chose to show a nightscape of the main view at Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat. I encompassed the design into a long oval for a retro bumper sticker look with wrap-around text.
